Face Characters- Choose one of the scripts below to use for your audition.
Sir Reginald
Character
Sir Reginald has a British accent and has a habit of rolling his R’s. Sir Reginald loves nothing more than to return to the society of adventurers and tell the tales of the animals he has seen and makes up stories for ones he hasn’t. A little zany, he often loses track of what he is saying and goes off on a tangent, often talking to himself to get back on course.
Script
Have I told you of the time I traversed the tundra tracking the terrific tantalizing ten toed Terran? Starting my journey in Anchorage Alaska, I spent months in solitude and isolation as I crossed the frozen wilderness of Quebec. I was cold, hungry, and alone. Not a soul around for miles. Even the camera crew was complaining. Hours turned to days. Days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to hours again. Finally, when I had almost lost all hope, I made a breakthrough. There, amongst the snow drifts, the illusive creature foraged for food by reaching into a hole in the frozen lake and pulling out a fish. It then nosed through a cooler for a drink. It was at that moment I realized I had just discovered a Canadian ice fishing.
The Director
Character
A relic from the golden age of film, the director’s sole purpose in life is to capture the essence of life on said film for generations to come. The director always talks like a master thespian, speaking with great passion for the art and an enthusiasm for getting the best performance out of the cast (guests).
Script
<The director walks up to a random guest> Perfect! You are Just the right person for my latest theatrical creation! Here’s the scene! You have come to the park in search of the Jersey Devil. <look at guest as if framing the then hold up a camera, obviously the guest looks puzzled> Brilliant! The Look of confusion as if to say “What am I doing here? How will I go on? Where’s the restroom?” Now! You pull out your phone, open the Six Flags App! Pull up the map! There! You see it! It’s the path that has eluded you all of this time! Cut! Print! Brilliant! That’s a wrap!
Tacky Tourist
Character
White zinc on the nose, huge sun glasses, bright clothes, loud, pushy and with no shame. The Tacky Tourist has the camera at the ready and wastes no time in attempting to share everything they see to anyone they see.
Script
<While excitedly taking photos of literally everything> Oh hey didn’t see you there. Did you see this there?! Over there! Quick stand there <snaps photos> Isn’t this amazing, I traveled all the way from the other side of Jackson, New Jersey to be here today. We broke out the old RV and camped outside the entrance to be sure we were the first ones in! I also researched every nook and cranny of Six Flags before our trip, for 21 days, 12 hours, 15 minutes, and 58 seconds to be exact. Did you know the carousel over there spins the opposite direction of most other carousels! <Distracted by something> WOW! Over there, stand there, perfect photo spot, Say coaster!! <Snaps pictures>. What great memories we are going to make today! Be sure to snap all the pictures throughout your day today!
